Mahanaim for Children & Women Uganda recognizes and values the contribution made by volunteers since our inception, to the official launch of programs and onwards. We provide opportunities for volunteer engagement towards community development. Volunteers have added great value and have provided priceless input and contribution to our programs and beneficiaries from inception.
They have learned from us and we have learned from them. They are an integral part of what we do.
In addition to the personal satisfaction from volunteering, there are many other benefits from volunteering;
Volunteer Training is provided to new volunteers depending on their role and location in Uganda. We ensure that they are equipped to provide services directly to the communities. This includes an orientation, basic HIV/AIDS information, boundaries workshop, working with vulnerable groups, and other sessions as required or requested. We recruit and place volunteers at different times every year.
Time Commitment: Volunteering at Mahanaim Children & Women Uganda requires a minimum time commitment of 3 to 6 months for local volunteers and from 3 months to one year for international volunteers. There may be exceptions based on the skill set of the volunteer but there are no volunteer opportunities for less than one month. This is related to the time and resources needed for orientation, and the time needed to provide meaningful service.
Volunteer Opportunities:
Donate to our Education Equity Fund, which ensures all students stay in school and have the materials and support they need to thrive.
We use these donations to provide consistent and high-quality meals for vulnerables, sustainable agricultural practices and renewable energy.
Donate to our Women Empowerment Fund. This supports wellbeing of women through home needs, fostering healthy relationships with family members and providing access to women protective services.
